Hello π
This week Elder Salyer was still sick and turns out he actually had pneumonia so we were told to take things easy for a few days. That meant we didn't go out and do any finding but we were still able to go do our planned events and lessons. And wow the Lord magnified what we were able to do.
First off, we got to attend the Temple 3 times this week!! On Tuesday we went with our district and then on Thursday and Friday we went with our new members. We went with Kenny again and it was once again very special to see the faithful person he has become since I met him. On Friday we went with Vicky and our member friends the Hudsons. It was so special to get to see Vicky inside the temple and the joy she felt there. I remember starting this transfer off stressed out about her and praying and fasting a ton so she would be baptized. And within the past 6 weeks, I got to baptize her and see her go to the temple. I was able to be here from her only journey too which started on March 12 when she asked if she could come to church. And then when we went to the temple together it was exactly 3 months on June 12. The Lord truly worked wonders in her life and answered our prayers. I wrote more about her and her story on my Facebook @cachenoble if you want to know more.
This week we also put our friend Shelby on date for baptism on July 11! It was a cool experience where the Lord magnified our effort because she asked how do I know if I am ready to be baptized? And we were reading some verses from the Book of Mormon together and she was reading from my copy. And at the top of the page we we're reading on it said “You are ready to be baptized.” That was pretty cool because I wrote that 2 months ago on there but it isn't very clear from the verses so that felt pretty inspired.
I got my transfer news this week on Sunday and I am super excited π I am heading to New Braunfels 2nd Ward and will be with an Elder Randall. I have also been assigned to be District Leader but what's cool is my MTC companion the beloved Elder Stonehocker has been there as DL for a long time so we are just swapping areas π Super excited to be with Elder Randall because he seems very cool. I'll do my best to not go broke here though because I will live right next to Buc-ee's which I am at this point a super fan and willing to spend anything lol.
With the mission split happening this transfer though means I won't see my current companion Elder Salyer again till after our missions. Which is pretty crazy since we served together here for 3 months. He is heading to Uvalde to be the Zone Leader of the massive Amistad Zone which is a part of the brand new Texas San Antonio South Mission. He was a great companion and his insights and fellowship really helped this area too. We leave knowing we made a big impact on the wards and are grateful for the people we got to meet, serve and minister to here.
My spiritual thought connects to something we got to do this weekend. On Saturday we got to return to my first area Seguin! Cool thing is it was also Elder Salyers first area just way before I was ever there! While he was there he knocked on the door of and met Bryan. Then while I was there I got to teach Bryan too. And on Saturday Bryan and two of his granddaughters were baptized!! It was really special to see because they were some people who we didn't every really anticipate to be baptized while teaching them. And yet each of them teared up when they were confirmed members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and the spirit was powerful in the room. It really showed me how this is the Lordβs work not ours. Because only he knew they would come so far. It is like a scripture I read recently in 3 Nephi 18.
Verse 32 “Nevertheless, ye shall not cast him out of your synagogues, or your places of worship, for unto such shall ye continue to minister; for ye know not but what they will return and repent, and come unto me with full purpose of heart, and I shall heal them; and ye shall be the means of bringing salvation unto them.”
Anyways yall I hope you have a great week and to the fellow missionaries in this transfer I wish you well π Because Elder Noble is going to be living it up in New Braunfels π
With Love,
Elder Noble
