Hello πΒ
Howdy yall π€ What a week!! Sorry I forgot to write an email last week. I have been adjusting to my new area. So I have now been with Elder Bailey as his follow up trainer for nearly 2 weeks now and he is awesome!! Such a great Elder who I already love so much. He reminds me A LOT of me at the beginning of my mission especially when it comes to being frustrated. He's doing great though and is growing so much everyday. I am very impressed with him all around. He has a powerful testimony that brings the spirit everytime πΒ Almost cried one time he shared it with someone π
So anyways so much has happened but I just want to cover a few things. First off my new area is the High Country Ward which is where our mission officeΒ is located.Β So it's been kinda weird seeing just regular members in the building on Sundays cause I have only ever seen missionaries at this building before during zone conferences and transfers. Also I live in a pretty decent apartment which is actually the same apartment I stayed in on my very first night of my mission. Crazy how it's kind of a full circle moment. My actual area I cover is relatively small but is super dense and so we still have plenty of work to do which is nice. It is the northeast corner inside 1603 down O'Connor on the west and our southern border is I35.Β
Transfers was kinda sad cause I had to say goodbye to Elder Williams (Henry) Who was the first friend I made on my mission. Can't believe his two years is up and bro has been home for 2 weeks now!! Miss him so much but can't wait to room with him at BYU π I also had to say goodbye to Elder Van Dyke which was also kinda sad cause he was a good example to me and I felt like he genuinely cared for me when he was my ZL.Β
Being a ZL myself now is a A LOT of work. A lot more than I expected to be honest. Especially when I am learning the whole thing while the other ZL isn't my actual companion. Elder Blomquist is the other ZL and we get along great!! Honestly a lot better than I anticipated. We have a lot of the same ideas and agree on a lot it feels like. Unity is already up in the zone π We lovingly refer to each other as Zomps. Except he tried to come up with a nickname for me and he came up with Puff. And I'll be honest what the frick. Puff? π He says it's cause I remind him of a pufferfish but it's probably just cause I am a lil round. Not very nice so I called him Elder Bumkiss. Another Elder gave me that idea and I thought it was hilarious π€£
Here are 2 cool miracles to close it out π
Miracle #1
All week we focused on member work and I told Elder Bailey that if we did so the Lord would deliver us someone crazy elect into our hands and he did so on Sunday morning! Our new friend Dakota texted another set of Elders number he had saved saying he wanted to meet with missionaries and turns out we were his local ones π We met him and hour before church and holy cow it was awesome!! He has already read the entire Book of Mormon and he said the reason he reached out is cause he had a random out of the blue dream where he met with 2 missionaries. And so he thought that could be God guiding him here!! Super excited to see where this goes because he actually met with missionaries before very briefly. This was also his first time attending sacrament meeting and he loved it β€οΈΒ
Miracle #2Β
Daniel got baptized πππ I'll be honest yall when I met Daniel I thought there was no way he could be baptized. Missionaries had been meeting with him for a while but when I met him I wasn't sure how accountable he was for baptism. He has a learning disability and short term memory loss so teaching him is a lot different than anyone I have before. But anyways we counseled with President Bramwell and the Bishop and they told us to move forward with the baptism because they felt he was accountable enough. He bikes a couple miles to church every week (most of the time the wrong ward though lol) π
He also did have a very sincere desire to be baptized so we went ahead with it. He passed his interview and then we talked about how he would need white underclothing for his baptism but he didn't have anyway to get some before hand. So we went to Walmart ourselves (I was lowkey so stressed out this day) and we ran into our Ward Mission Leader, Brother Wilkinson, who was the GOAT and took care of it π Meant a lot to me to have so much help from others for something I honestly wasn't too on board with. But because the Lord put us in that position, I mean like fr what are the chances we run into him at thw exact moment we needed help, it told me God wanted Daniel baptized. I recognized I needed to step out of the way and just let it be even if I question it. And so last night Daniel was baptized by Elder Bailey and I confirmed him a member of the church. The spirit was super strong and it was a sacred feeling getting to perform another confirmation in just the past 3 weeks.Β
One last bonus is James Redford who used to be an Elder serving here – whom I lived with at the very beginning of my mission – came to Daniel's baptism and then a lesson with us last night. It's been great to see him for the first time in 10 months and we are going to hang out today while he is visiting in town because Elder Bailey is actually one of his close friends from back home too!!Β
Sorry this email was so long I just got a lot to talk about lol. But if you got this far or just quickly scrolled through this is what I have learned from these past two weeks:
π¨ See others as they may become! π¨
With Love,
Elder Noble
