Hello πΒ
Howdy yall, what a busy week we just had so much happened. I'm going to do my best to remember it all. Cause this week is a week worth talking about. P-day is now today because we are going to the temple.Β
Monday: Insanely epic P-day πΒ For sure a core memory one for the books. The senior service missionaries, the Jeeters, in our mission invited our district and the spanish district over to their house for pday. And they bought us pizza, tons of candy and soda, and they had an epic game room with pool π± and all sorts of fun stuff!! Had a blast there π Then at night we went over to one of our friends who have been teaching for a while now and we played Banangrams. Now before you judge us for just playing games let me tell you Elder Thunell helped me recognize a new spiritual gift I have received from the Lord. And that is the gift of discernment through what feels like legit detective work. While playing the game I picked up on the way he arranged words and how he played. And learned things about his personality… one of them being he doesn't like to grab new letters to use. He only like to rework things with what he already has. And the spirit hit me telling me he has a hard time accepting the Book of Mormon because it doesn't fit with the “letters” he already has. Also been using this gift for a lot of situations lately.Β
Tuesday: Had a great lesson with our friend Mina. We brought Brother Gardner with us and they were great fellowship fr!! And Elder Thunell lead out the lesson in an amazing way and I felt like a proud dad π Mina shared with us his testimony of Joseph Smith and it was beautiful. Also something super relatable for all the other DLs out there! Yk that feeling when your sisters call you to let you know they knocked on someone's door and within 20 mintues of talking to her the lady legit died in front of them!! No?! Well that happened to my sisters π The sisters knocked on a door and an old lady who was going nuts opened the door and Sister Wilks is a CNA and so she took her blood pressure and said it was deadly and so she called 911. The lady then started going nuts and clawing at the walls, then ran down the hall, fell and died… the sisters said they were so scared cause they were just standing there. They checked and she was in fact deceased. 5 minutes later she came back to life!! And then the ambulance got there and just took her away! Don't know what happened to her but she has probably since passed away. Luckily Sister Wilks and Sister Arnold are okay.
Wednesday: We got to go to New Missionary Follow Up which just felt like a party for me π₯³ so I had a lot of fun for sure!! I also learned more great insights on training πΒ
Thursday: We went to do service at Hope Hospice which is a thrift store for charity. Somebody dumped away a ton of super nice ties in the recycle bin and I asked the manager about it and she said they shouldn't have done that because they were super nice – some of them being brand new!! And so she gave us as many as we wanted for free and we walked away with probably a little over 50 ties and split them up between us. I got some really nice ones and while I am typing this I am wearing a brand new one from Dior from Italy lol.Β
Friday: Had an incredible district council πΒ I love being district leader I get so many wonderful opportunities to teach and serve while also learning so much from those in my district. Out of the 4 sisters the one who has been out the longest is only at 4.5 months so I am over a VERY young district and have a lot of opportunities to teach and train them. Also whats crazy is I learned that 3/4 of the missionaries in our mission are at 6 months or less π€― That's crazy I am an old timer and haven't even been here a year lol.Β
Saturday: We had stake conference this weekend and our friend Mina joined us for the adult evening session and it was awesome! He said his favorite part was to learn more about the temple. β€οΈΒ Also because I started my mission in Seguin I have already seen the first semi annual conference of the Cibolo Valley Stake and now that I am back in New Braunfels I got to be here for this second one! So I got to see so many of the members I started out with like the one and only Tim Bird who is no longer Bishop Bird but now Brother Bird and his wife!! What an awesome family. πΒ
Sunday: Super cool and very busy day. We went to the Sunday session of conference with Mina again and he loved it all!! President and Sister Bramwell attended and spoke and then we introduced Mina to them. Also a lady – who I have met before and ate dinner with but said she wasn't ready to meet with missionaries yet – turned around and told the sisters she is ready to be baptized and would like to meet π€―Β Then we ate lunch at a members house with Mina!! Then we had a lesson with a new friend and then ended off our night by playing Uno No Mercy with the Miller family.
Monday: Since P-Day got moved to today, Tuesday, we had to go out and do missionary work. At first I thought it would be trudging along ready for a break but man it was one of our most diligent days!! We had multiple lessons and got to bring our friend Cole to meet Brother Hoffman who ended up literally teaching Cole every single lessons principle on his own. We were there for way too long but it was so spiritual and really wonderful to give Brother Hoffman an opportunity to do what he loves – sharing his love for Jesus Christ and His Gospel with others β€οΈ
I know this email was long – so I am just gonna leave it at that for today. But hope yall have a wonderful week π₯³ π
With Love,
Elder Noble
