Final Week of MTC

Hello My Friends!

It has been quite a busy week and I have little time to share. This week has been truly wonderful and I've had so much fun preparing at the MTC.
This week began for us on Sunday waking up to the news that President Russell M. Nelson had passed away. And while there was a sadness at the loss of such a wonderful apostle of the Lord, there was no pause on the work. The work continues on with the Lord Jesus Christ leading his church and we celebrated the life of President Nelson. That Sunday had a bunch of very special coincidences too. Me and my district decided to sing in the MTC choir and on that Sunday we had the special opportunity to sing We Thank Thee O God For a Prophet under the direction of Craig Jessop, the former director of the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square. It was such a special experience. After the practice I got to meet and get a photo with him!
On Tuesday we performed this song during a devotional from Elder Clement Matswagotha of the Seventy. He spoke about our special purpose as missionaries.
The rest of the week has consisted of visiting the beautiful Mt. Timpangos Temple twice, and lots and lots of classes and devotionals. I've had so much fun with my companions and love them so much for all the joy they've brought to our work together. This week I also completed my third read through of the Book of Mormon and am restarting it again marking all the times Jesus Christ is mentioned. I also really loved our district and was grateful for everyone in it. We were also a lucky district because we had a high number of sisters and I've learned a lot from them. And I've had lots of fun with the elders as well.
This coming Tuesday we will be leaving the MTC for our missions. Elder Evans is heading to Iowa City, and Me and Elder Stonehocker are going to San Antonio Texas. It's gonna be a sad goodbye for us with Elder Evans but we hope to be close friends when we all return to Utah for college.
I am really excited to meet my Mission President and his wife, and so excited to meet the people in Texas. I love Jesus Christ and His Gospel and everything I am doing feels like the most meaningful and joyful thing I've done in my life so far.

With Love,
