Howdy Yall!! 🤠
This past week was Zone Conference! It was the best one I've been too so far and it was so much fun! We got to help set up and it was so much fun getting to see all the fellow missionaries coming together! It's cool now that I've been here for a while I actually recognize other Elders and Sister and I have fun talking to everybody.
At Zone Conference we focused a lot on our divine identity and eternal destiny as literal children of God. Most of Christianity believe that God has taken on a “Father figure role,” but in Jesus Christ's restored Gospel we understand that our Father in Heaven is literally the Father of our spirits. We got to listen to lots of great talks and my favorite was from Elder Jason Mow who is a military relations senior missionary. He is an inspirational speaker back home, author of best selling books, retired police officer, and Afghanistan Veteran. He was super cool and motivational and I loved his story. He tore his hamstrings completely off of his bones during a police pursuit on foot in Phoneix and after that he lost his job, got divorced, was homeless, financially ruined and done. But he said God got him through it and that he survived because he realized he was a warrior and people who give up are victims. It was super encouraging the whole time and he told us to say I AM… Not to question ourselves but to say I AM a son of God and I AM a Disciple of Jesus Christ.
At Zone Conference it was also lots of fun getting to see President and Sister Bramwell who really do love us and are some of the coolest people I've ever met. Elder Walker and I got a picture with President and we played a game where as districts we had to build the tallest free standing balloon tower and we won!!! I also got to talk a lot with the new AP Elder Sagapouletele who is such a stud. He came and sat by me at lunch and wanted to talk to me about the work and how stuff has been. He was super cool and taught me new things about charity I never comprehend before. Charity is not just loving one another but when we say it's the pure love of Christ; what it really means is we have a pure love ourselves OF Christ and that helps us to love others! I also got to see Elder Williams again and he is just so much fun we've missed each other a lot.
Now I bet you're wondering what the heck this email title is about and it is kind of a long story! At the last Zone conference in December we were very close to the nearest cheesecake factory and I wanted to go get a key lime cheesecake. Elder Walker said we didn't have time and we didn't go. Which made me sad but it became an epic running joke LOL. I said to him, “Elder Walker lovest thou me?” He responded, “Yea Lord.” I said, “Feed Me Cheesecake.” 😂 And so this time we went to cheesecake factory and I got my cheesecake to go! I think that's the happiest I've ever been. A good desert and full belly is always the best after you've been spiritually fed. And it makes me appreciate other things even more, because if I can appreciate a cheesecake this much, then I can appreciate those I teach, my companion, my friends, and my family even more!! This little thing in my life has made me understand to appreciate the little things so that I can give even more appreciation to those I love. Even the Lord Jesus Christ!! Who knew Cheesecake would teach me to appreciate the Savior and His Atonement even more but it honestly did!! That may sound foolish but remember the Lord works with small and simple things and his ways confound the wise LOL. 😂
Also on Tuesday we got to unload an entire semi truck of food from the Church to the local food bank. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the richest and most successful church in the entire world and is the third largest private property land owner in America. We get a lot of hate from the world for it but really let's look at what that stuff is!! This entire semi truck is the biggest delivery the food bank gets all year and all of the food was grown on church land, paid for by members donations and tithes, packaged and processed by the church, and shipped out in church owned vehicles and employees. This is a very expensive operation but the church makes no benefit off of it besides helping our fellow man. To me it's just another reason our church is the greatest church because NO ONE else does what we do. The Church is even sending out extra food and resources this year as a part of America's 250th birthday. As missionaries we got to come help unload it and when we opened the back our jaws dropped at the shear amount of the donation. The people of Seguin who visit the pantry over the next month will all be eating food and putting their kids to bed with full bellies because of Jesus Christ's true church. No one in the Church nor clergy gets paid for any ecclesiastical calling or office. The President of the Church and Apostles of Jesus Christ are not paid by the church. The Church has been blessed with success and we use it to bless members and non members throughout the world. No Protestant or Catholic Church will ever be able to do what we can do nor will they ever be able to help on such a large global scale as us. Jesus Christ has got us looking out for the world.
We are now heading into the last week of this transfer and I am so hyped to go out with a bang. Based off of my conversations with President Bramwell and my tenure in Seguin – I am assuming I will now be leaving Seguin, Texas. I've really learned to love the people here and have made lots of friends. I've spoken to probably around 1000 people now and have found nearly 250 people to teach in total while here. I had a lot of opportunities to plant seeds that I know future missionaries will be able to reap the harvest of. I hope to make this last week great! 👍 Transfer news comes this Saturday and so I'll find out then if I am moving to a new part of the mission. I am really excited to see some other areas but this transfer was great because Elder Walker and I truly have become best friends!!! Being a missionary has given me lots of opportunities to befriend people and I am really grateful for that. Next Monday I will let yall know if I am moving or not and even more exciting is that that day is my birthday!!! I'll be turning 19 which is crazy. My mission is going by so fast already and I feel like I just left! I love of yall too and hope each of you make it a great week too! God Bless!!!
With Love,
Elder Noble
