Howdy Yall!
Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. This past week was so busy and lots happened so this one is gonna be chronological from what's happened!
On Tuesday, we got to go to the temple!! As missionaries we get to go every 3 transfers and we already got to go once this transfer, but luckily we had a new member who was going for the first time and we got to take him with some other members!! It was fun getting to be there during the night time and looking out over the beautiful city and Texas horizon. The San Antonio Texas Temple is built on top of the highest hill in all of San Anotnio so you really can see everything from an elevated view. And it is probably the most beautiful and intricate temple I have ever been in, with every window being stained glass. The Temple is also a very sacred place where the spirit is felt easily for me. The temple is quite literally the House of The Lord, and when I feel a little homesick from my Father in Heaven, it brings me joy to visit even closer with him at the temple!
On Wednesday we had District Council where we meet with other missionaries in our District (large area usually a few towns) and discuss how the work is going. It has been lots of fun spending time with other Elders and also the Sisters and I really appreciate everyone that was in this district during my first transfer. This is also the day where we really put our finding efforts into gear. We spent a lot of time finding people and talking about Jesus Christ all day. I loved it!! We also got to eat dinner again with the Mahlsteade family and they're great cooks. They made us homemade KFC bowls which I love KFC so that was great!
On Thursday the finding slowed down and honestly we were kind of scrubs. Scrub is a term we all use for lazy people here in the TSAM lol. But we did do a lot of planning and I had a good mentor session online where I learned how to better expand my vision of finding and it proved very helpful.
Because then on Friday and Saturday we spent the entirety of each day going out, spreading the word, and finding new people to teach!! It ended up being really fun and great and we did walk until you talk a lot. My confidence in approaching people has increased a lot and I haven't had really any personal issue with rejection so far even though we do get told to go away a lot lol.
On Saturday, there were even more door slams and Go Aways, and even an angry text of a Don't Come Back Here or I'll call the police. That guy who texted us was our first time of any missionaries contacting him in a year lol. We honestly think he was getting harassed by Jehovahs Witnesses who can be pretty agressive here in Seguin, and that maybe he thought we were them? Idk either way we made him a “Red Dot” which means missionaries will never contact them again. But besides that we met so many cool people!!!! It was also game day so if we sent in certain things to the chat we would win points for our team like sending in a photo of us with Red so that explains that photo attached to this lol. Another funny thing is I now check the Say Cheese Guadalupe County Jail page nearly every day to see if any of those we are teaching maybe are physically unable to answer our calls lol. 2 of the friends we are teaching were on there this week so it'll be a while till we see them!
This week we had our highest performing week of the whole transfer with 16 new people found! Which crushed our miracle goal of 15 in one week!! We normally only get 7-9 new people so this was a big deal!
On Sunday we had a really special church experience with the primary program where the kids sang songs and read scriptures. It was awesome! And then we had a great Sunday School and a Linger Longer where we stayed after church to eat lunch as a ward and there was some very good food! Our 2 friends who are closest to baptism, named Dante and Ruby, came again and they had a lovely experience and the ward really started to fellowship them. They've been a real joy to meet with and the faithful steps they've been taking have been truly wonderful!
Now some exciting upcoming things are Transfers! I got my news at church yesterday and I have learned I am staying in Seguin like I wanted!! However Elder Rudolph is leaving to Hondo, Texas. My new companion will be Elder Walker who I will meet on Wednesday! I am super excited to meet him because my roommate Elder Williams who I love, was his trainer! So it's gonna be a very fun apartment this Christmas season!! Also today is looking to be a fun day as I should be getting to serve at the Giving Machine and go on more fun adventures!! But I will save those stories for next week!! Also to my friends in Spokane, yall got a Giving Machine this year!!!! Go with your friends and family it really is such a wonderful charity that helps so many people both local and around the world!!
Favorite Scripture this week:
2 Nephi 31:20
“Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men. Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eternal life.”
Have a great week everyone! I am praying for many here in Seguin and if there are any of you who needs prayers please reach out and I will happily pray God blesses you!!
With Love,
Elder Noble
